Analysis of the Current Research Status of Grain Yield Monitoring Systems

Abstract: [Objective] In response to the current situation of single field yield measurement methods and significant errors, a yield monitoring sensor that can be installed on harvesters is developed to obtain yield information, making it more convenient and efficient to understand the yield of crops and the harvest situation of each plot. [Method] The research group summarized and summarized different types of yield monitoring systems and grain yield monitoring technologies both domestically and internationally in recent years, and analyzed their advantages and existing problems with examples. [Result] With the deepening understanding of the current research status of grain yield monitoring technology, the feasibility, stability, and accuracy of the yield monitoring system are the standards for whether the system can operate normally. Some developed countries abroad have been studying the installation of yield monitoring systems on combine harvesters for a long time, and related technologies have gradually matured. However, the commercialized yield monitoring system still has problems such as large errors, low spatial resolution, weak system universality, and high prices. However, the research and promotion of intelligent agricultural machinery in China has just started, and due to various reasons, the relevant technologies are not yet mature enough. Most of them are in the early stage of experimental research and do not have the ability to be commercialized. [Conclusion] Further research on precision agriculture technology should be expanded, bringing the results from the laboratory to the field to achieve modern agricultural development.
